it is a start, but there's no focus. Just an abstract blah of brushwork. Plus, it's too small...but that's not as important...wallpapers arn't the same as signatures and think, if this was your wallpaper it's a little too active with nothing to focus on, so it's progress, and i'm sure you'll improve with the next.
